A 125-foot cake will be dished out Tuesday and served on what is said to be the world’s longest porch to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Mackinac Island’s Grand Hotel.

Rooms at the storied hotel will be available for $125 per person on that day, a rate that includes a full breakfast, a five-course dinner, cocktail reception and a lecture by hotel historian Bob Tagatz.

The national historic landmark opened July 10, 1887. Receptions, concerts, fireworks and a Governors’ Gala, with visits from former Michigan governors William Milliken, James Blanchard and John Engler, are planned from July 13-19.
